Lead Technical Program Manager, Simulation

📋 Description

• Hybrid role reporting to a TPM Director in Waymo’s Simulation and ML Evaluation platforms.
• Lead cross-functional programs to scale evaluation infrastructure and integrate simulation into the
• Partner with Simulation, ML Research, Perception, and Planner leadership to define long-term vision.
• Own program resourcing, budget, and capacity planning for compute/infrastructure needs.
• Navigate ambiguity and coordinate dependencies across organizations as a technical partner.
• Build and mentor a high-performing TPM team focused on technical excellence and growth.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years directly managing and developing teams of TPMs or software engineers.
• Proven ML domain expertise in ML platforms, data pipelines, training, evaluation frameworks, or ML
• Experience leading transformational, cross-functional programs end-to-end with timelines, risks
• Strong technical judgment, ability to shape strategic direction, and balance velocity with quality.
• 10+ years of TPM experience in software, large-scale infrastructure, or ML environments.
