Lidar Technician

📋 Description

• Process forest lidar data; co-register TLS and pre-process ALS data using in-house and vendor software.
• Back up large lidar datasets; collaborate with scientists, engineers and field team.
• Quality assurance of TLS-derived tree segmentation.
• Improve lidar tech; track advances in science and industry.
• Coordinate with external partners; ensure clear communication and continuous improvement.
• Occasional travel for data collection, hardware testing and training.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with forest lidar data; TLS co-registration and ALS pre-processing.
• Proficient with 3D point cloud tools (CloudCompare) and QGIS; Python coding.
• Strong attention to detail and data quality.
• Willing and able to travel internationally for weeks at a time.
• Good understanding of forest ecology, GIS, and lidar principles.
• Self-starter; thrives in evolving environments; early-stage experience.
