Magazine Designer

📋 Description

• Design weekly long-form feature stories and editorial layouts for Newsweek’s print magazine
• Oversee the smooth flow of each issue through the production cycle, coordinating with editors, art
• Work closely with editors and art director to ensure each issue is visually cohesive and on-brand
• Prepare files for print production, ensuring all layouts meet technical and editorial standards.
• Support content adaptation across digital formats when needed.
• Adapt badge designs to be used in different formats.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in magazine or editorial design, preferably in a fast-paced
• Exceptional layout skills and a deep understanding of publication structure, grid systems, and
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, with excellent knowledge of creating tables for long lists, and
• Proven ability to juggle multiple pages, deadlines, and collaborators under pressure.
• Experience commissioning and directing editorial visuals is a plus.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong editorial design and layout is essential.
