Manager, Animal Health

📋 Description

• Oversees Veterinary Hospital operations to USDA/AZA standards.
• Leads on-call veterinarians/biologists; schedule and invoicing.
• Manages departmental inventory of supplies and meds.
• Manages hospital workflow; triage and initial patient assessments.
• Coordinates animal transactions, permits, transport, and paperwork.
• Supports cross-divisional research and staff development.

🎯 Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California or eligible to obtain licensure within 24 months.
• 5+ years in animal/plant husbandry in a public aquarium or zoo.
• Advanced knowledge of anesthesia, treatment, welfare, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of AZA/USDA standards and registration methods.
• Experience with ZIMS, Tracks, Formstack, Google Drive, Google Suite.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and multitasking; weekend availability.
