Manager, Mechanical Design Engineering

📋 Description

• Create foundation designs for Gen 2 products
• Transition designs from prototype to high-volume production with vendors
• Drive verification analysis (FEA) and testing for the team
• Establish best practices for structures design and mentor the team
• Recruit and hire engineers who share your design vision
• Travel up to 20% to other Form Energy offices or vendor sites

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 7+ years in mechanical design
• Experience leading design for complex mechanical systems with FEA
• Experience managing 2+ direct reports in a functional leadership capacity
• Proficiency in CAD, SolidWorks, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018)
• Proficient in DFMA for mass manufacturing, sheet metal, stampings, and weldments
• Sense of urgency and self-driven to hit tough schedule targets
