📋 Description

• Lead and grow the SCAR team, Discord's first line of defense against bulk abuse.
• Set a vision for automation; scale SCAR with ML-driven detection and AI workflows.
• Define north-star metrics and a roadmap for prioritizing abuse work.
• Build a research program to study attacker operations via structured experiments.
• Close the loop with Safety ML; turn signals into automated countermeasures.
• Partner cross-functionally to influence safety-by-design decisions upstream.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of people management leading technical teams.
• 4+ years in Trust & Safety or adversarial domains at consumer-scale.
• Drive ML and automation adoption; guide model development.
• Strong analytical skills; fluent in SQL and Python.
• Think from first principles; apply behavioral-economics reasoning in adversarial systems.
• Excellent cross-functional comm across eng, ML, data science, policy, legal, product.
