Manager, Software Engineering - Data Platform

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building and operating Figma's data platform, owning delivery
• Set the roadmap and technical strategy for your sub area, providing hands-on leadership where needed
• Drive reliability, scalability, and forward strategy as adoption grows across the org
• Hire, grow, and coach engineers and tech leads to build a healthy, high-performing team
• Partner with Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering to identify priorities and drive
• Make build-vs-buy decisions, including evaluating and managing platform vendors

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years managing engineers, including senior ICs or tech leads
• Experience building and scaling data platform/infrastructure in production
• Strong software engineering background with senior/staff depth for technical direction
• Partnership mindset; able to manage cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to set technical direction, prioritize under ambiguity, with clear written comms
• Experience growing tech leads and hiring at pace
