Manager, Software Engineering - Storage Platform

📋 Description

• Lead engineers for core database infra: Postgres, migrations, provisioning.
• Own reliability of the data tier; drive incident response and resilience.
• Set technical direction and roadmap for the data platform.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to prioritize data platform work.
• Recruit, retain, and grow infra engineers; build a strong team culture.
• Drive execution with planning, reviews, and transparent progress updates.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years leading infra, platform, or backend teams.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and data-intensive backends.
• Ability to ramp quickly on new domains with solid engineering fundamentals.
• Proven on-call culture and incident response experience.
• Experience developing engineers' careers and promotions.
• Comfort leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Nice-to-have: experience managing managers across domains.
• Nice-to-have: define org-wide technical vision across streams.
• Nice-to-have: hands-on with Postgres/MySQL at scale (sharding, replication).
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with AI-assisted tooling for infra ops.
