Managing Counsel, Product (Payroll experience required)

📋 Description

• Provide end-to-end product legal counsel for payroll and AI-enabled products, incl.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Payroll, Privacy, Security, and Commercial Legal teams across
• Advise on product terms and AI-specific provisions: data use, training, IP ownership, acceptable
• Monitor AI, tech, employment, data protection, and payroll regs across jurisdictions; translate
• Support compliance with EU AI Act, UK AI regs, US developments, Canadian AI laws, GDPR, and CCPA.
• Collaborate with Privacy/Security for DPIAs, TIAs, incident response, and vendor diligence for

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with substantial tech product advisory experience; multi-jurisdictional is a plus.
• Proven product counsel in technology, with expertise in HR tech, payroll, PEO, EOR, HRIS, or
• Experience advising on complex products at scale across jurisdictions.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML legal/regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, UK, US, Canada).
• Strong understanding of AI regulation, data protection, employment law, and payroll compliance.
• Significant payroll compliance experience across jurisdictions; in-house tech company a plus.
