Manufacturing Engineer (Dispensary - Materials Production)

📋 Description

• Collaborate with design, materials science, quality, and production to meet rate targets.
• Develop and optimize production for silicone RTV adhesives, paints, ablatives, and TPS.
• Specify and qualify production equipment: mixers, reactors, degassers, ovens, pumps.
• Lead design for manufacturing during new material development for scale.
• Facilitate flight-qualified materials production at higher rates while reducing cost.
• Resolve manufacturing defects via root cause analysis, DOE, and validation testing.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, materials, or mechanical engineering.
• 1+ years in chemical processing, polymer manufacturing, or materials production.
• 3+ years in chemical manufacturing or materials processing.
• Experience with silicone chemistry or formulated materials.
• Experience with mixers, reactors, degassers, pumps, and vacuum systems.
• Materials characterization methods: rheology, mechanical testing, thermal analysis, optical properties.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Onsite in Hawthorne; respirator certification may be required.
