Manufacturing Engineer, Machine Shop (Starship)

📋 Description

• Determine inspection method that maximizes uptime and reduces part stagnation.
• Increase inspection throughput with automation opportunities and standardized rework guides.
• Maintain fast feedback loops with design/manufacturing to cut cycle times after defect detection.
• Update engineering drawings to improve manufacturability and inspectability (GD&T callouts).
• Drive DFx for inspection, including reducing CMM times through optimized programming, fixturing, and workflow.
• Review out-of-tolerance conditions and sign off on dispositions to enable production flow.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
• 1+ years of machine shop, manufacturing, quality, and/or inspection experience (student project team or internship qualifies).
• Experience with precision metrology systems (CMMs, 3D imaging).
• GD&T and inspection procedures.
• CNC programming experience (lathes/mills) and CMM programming.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as needed.
