Mechanical Design Engineer (Starship Components)

📋 Description

• Develop flow control devices (valves, regulators, solenoids) and actuators for Starship/Super Heavy.
• Question requirements, simplify and optimize to accelerate component delivery.
• Validate hardware reliability with shock, vibration, thermal and pressure cycling tests.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to maximize build rate; target >1 full launch per month.
• Generate and maintain drawings, specifications, analyses, and risk assessments.
• Lead root-cause investigations across development, production, and launch; implement corrective actions.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or an engineering discipline
• 1+ years of mechanical design/hands-on manufacturing experience
• Master’s degree or 1+ years of mechanical or aerospace engineering experience
• Experience designing, building, testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems
• Hands-on experience with fluid, gas, thermal, high voltage, or electronics systems
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices, gear trains, actuators, motors, valves, regulators
