Mechanical Drafter

📋 Description

• Create 2D/3D drawings for UL 891/508A/67 enclosures, panel layouts.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, BOMs, cut sheets, and revision histories per UL.
• Collaborate with engineers on clearances, wire space, ventilation, accessibility.
• Provide drafting support to fabrication/assembly; respond to RFIs and update drawings.
• Ensure designs meet UL 891/508A/67 and enclosure requirements; assist UL audits.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews for accuracy and fabrication readiness.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of mechanical drafting/design with electrical enclosures, switchboards, or control panels.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting or Mechanical Design preferred.
• Strong proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings for sheet metal enclosures, doors, frames, subpanels.
• Understanding enclosure considerations: spacing, wire-bending, ventilation, thermal management, accessibility.
• Strong attention to detail; able to interpret electrical schematics and specs.
