Member of Technical Staff, Backend

📋 Description

• Own the shared backend architecture: core services, data models, APIs.
• Define long-term backend architecture strategy across the organization.
• Design scalable, reliable backend systems and lead major design reviews.
• Identify and pay down architectural debt; lead cross-team migrations.
• Establish backend standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Stay hands-on: prototype critical systems, ship production code, unblock teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years backend engineering experience; 3+ years at senior level.
• Distributed systems, service architecture, data modeling, and API design at scale.
• Track record owning architecture across multiple teams/org and durable decisions.
• Experience leading large migrations in production without downtime.
• Strong, opinionated, collaborative; drives alignment with technical judgment.
• Fluent with AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to boost productivity.
