📋 Description

• The Connector Platform team builds the data layer that lets Perplexity's agents reach into the
• Own the design and implementation of the connector runtime behind a single agent-facing interface.
• Build the semantic layer: tool and entity schemas, capability metadata, and knowledge corrections.
• Design tool-discovery and tool-selection surfaces for accurate and efficient agent calls.
• Make agent loops robust with structured results, retries, idempotency, and observability.
• Define authentication/authorization patterns with Security and Backend Platform.

🎯 Requirements

• Backend system design experience in production (4+ years for mid-level, more for senior/staff).
• Strong system design skills for scalable architectures with multiple downstreams.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust; multi-language environment.
• Hands-on with modern infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Depth in OAuth/authorization, API/connector or MCP-server development, schema/semantic modeling, or
• Comfort working in security-sensitive areas and making trade-offs between safety and velocity.
