National Security Policy Lead, Biotech

📋 Description

• Develop strategies to strengthen U.S. and allied bio-innovation via AI
• Lead external biotech policy with U.S. federal stakeholders and regulators
• Shape policy on AI's biotech impacts, including biosecurity and competitiveness
• Promote collaborations with biosecurity practitioners and industry on testing & biosurveillance
• Translate biology research into concrete policy proposals with technical teams
• Coordinate with national security policymakers on threat intel sharing and safeguards

🎯 Requirements

• Hold an active TS/SCI clearance (or within the last 2 years) and ability to obtain one
• Working knowledge of biotech and biosecurity policy
• Familiar with key U.S. biotech policy institutions (FDA, NIH, DoD, USDA, Commerce, DOE, NSC) and Congressional committees
• Track record of effective advocacy with biotech regulators and sector agencies
• Scientific fluency in biological sciences to engage with researchers and translate AI/bio for policy audiences
• Experience designing and advocating concrete bio policy/regulatory proposals
