Ocean Planning Associate

📋 Description

• Coordinate day-to-day shipment assignments with internal/external stakeholders.
• Run FMT twice daily to schedule shipments for Execution team.
• Maintain FMT data: allocation, sailing schedules, cut-off dates.
• Execute pre-bookings, support trial shipments, rollover lists.
• Create best practices; provide feedback to tech/engineering teams.
• Conduct data analysis on utilization and forecasts vs allocation.
• Manage and resolve exceptions/escalations per SLA.
• Build local carrier relationships; attend carrier meetings and market intel.
• Work with Ocean Procurement & Allocation & Yield on planning/escalation.
• Prepare forecasts and soft allocations to secure space for clients.
• Optimize through net revenue steering and deadfreight management.
• Monitor performance on OTE and other relevant metrics.
• Drive continuous process improvements.
• Additional projects and duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS degree with strong track record of success.
• 2+ years in startup/consulting/NVOCC pricing/procurement/ops; Transpacific a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.
