Ophthalmic Technician

📋 Description

• Inform patients of test purpose and effects during tests
• Review medications with patients
• Answer questions about what to expect during/after surgery
• Transfer patients to surgical coordinator to schedule surgery
• Escort patients to exam room and then to front desk with instructions
• Obtain patient history and document data from testing and encounters

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years' ophthalmic technician experience preferred
• JCAHPO certified or working toward certification
• Attends work and required meetings on time
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients and staff
• Manages time well and multi-tasks
