Payment Operations Manager

📋 Description

• Design, build and run Monzo’s European payments capabilities.
• Set up and manage partnerships with payment schemes.
• Manage payment scheme implementation projects and onboarding.
• Partner with payments engineering and EU product teams to launch systems.
• Build back-office processes to manage EU payment systems.
• Prioritise issues to improve post-launch performance.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with payment systems and schemes, especially in Spain.
• Knowledge of European banks' payment regulations.
• Proactive self-starter with ownership and ambiguity tolerance.
• Experience managing relationships with a wide range of suppliers.
• Ability to build and scale complex operational systems.
• Strong strategic reasoning; balance short/long-term tradeoffs.
• Comfortable digging into technical system details with engineering.
• Data-driven with the ability to manage performance and SLAs.
