Photonics Engineer - Fiber Amplifiers, Satellites (Starlink)

📋 Description

• Own development of fiber amplifier systems for laser communications, including design and analysis
• Conduct validation and verification testing (thermal, TVAC, radiation, reliability, fault injection)
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure manufacturability
• Represent photonic system in program-level trades and issue resolution
• Lead optical architecture definition through trade studies and risk reduction
• Lead anomaly investigations to resolution

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physics, optics, electrical engineering, or other engineering/STEM discipline
• 2+ years of hands-on lab or work experience in fiber-based optical systems/networks, integrated
• 1+ years of experience in a computer programming language (e.g., C++, MATLAB, Python)
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR)
