Principal Backend Engineer

📋 Description

• Focus on backend friction across Engineering (90 engineers).
• Drive end-to-end projects spanning teams (React frontend, Python backend).
• Break problems into small deliverables and iterate.
• Use data pipeline and frameworks to measure impact on objectives.
• Shape long-term Engineering direction for 12-18 months.
• Lead end-to-end work from client (React) to backend across teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years as software engineer; at least 2 years at Senior Staff/Principal (L7+).
• Leadership across multiple teams (50+ engineers).
• Experience in scale-driven org operating at speed and quality.
• Deep server-side and back-end expertise across the stack.
• Enterprise SaaS background; AI video generation, billing, experiments, video delivery a plus.
• Strong alignment with commercial success.
