Principal Data Engineer

📋 Description

• Architect the data platform for scalable analytics and AI-powered capabilities.
• Build and optimize ingestion pipelines (CDC, streaming with Kafka/Flink, and batch).
• Tame schema complexity with nested, evolving source data and tradeoffs.
• Serve AI and analytics consumption with data products for BI and AI workloads.
• Own data quality, contracts, lineage, and observability to ensure data trust.
• Drive cost-aware architecture with Snowflake optimization and governance.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with distributed data systems.
• Deep hands-on with Snowflake, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and CDC tooling (Debezium or similar).
• Experience with AWS and Terraform, plus CI/CD automation.
• Strong programming in Python, Java, and SQL; production-grade code and data modeling.
• Track record designing data contracts, data quality, lineage, and data trust.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and mentoring of engineers across teams.
