Principal Engineer

📋 Description

• Own multi-year technical vision for Payments, Scheduling, Forms, Business Experience, and RCM.
• Drive architectural coherence across teams; resolve cross-system dependencies and debt.
• Lead technical due diligence for major initiatives: build-vs-buy decisions, vendor evaluations, and platform migrations.
• Work across the Applications Fellowship as a technical leader with Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead through influence to shape engineering practices and problem-solving templates.
• Mentor teams and elevate architectural thinking; build scalable organizational capability.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering with progressive technical leadership scope.
• Track record leading cross-team technical initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Influence without authority; build consensus across boundaries; translate tradeoffs into business terms.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems; scalable data stores (PostgreSQL, Vitess, Spanner, NoSQL).
• Experience with event streaming and messaging infrastructure (Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or similar).
• Cloud-native infra on GCP or AWS; Kubernetes, IaC, highly available design.
