Principal Environmental Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and execute site-specific air permitting strategies at SpaceX sites
• Plan facility changes or construction; review equipment and programs for permits
• Serve as SME on the Clean Air Act; apply requirements across jurisdictions
• Track and interpret new federal/state air regs (CAA, NSPS, NESHAP, SIPs) and guide teams
• Conduct internal air compliance audits and support external regulatory inspections
• Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and environmental testing; maintain records

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in environmental management or engineering with emphasis in environmental engineering
• Demonstrated expertise in federal air regs including CAA, NSPS Subpart KKKKa, PSD, and Title V
• Track record of successful permitting execution at complex sites and positive relationships with regulators including TCEQ
• 5+ years of environmental/regulatory compliance in a dynamic manufacturing setting
• Experience developing and implementing air compliance programs across multiple facilities or states
• Not remote/hybrid; relocation to a Texas SpaceX facility if not local
