Principal Infrastructure Architect

📋 Description

• Define and own DigitalOcean hardware architectures for next-gen compute across CPU, GPU, Storage.
• Serve as DO's primary infra tech stakeholder with Product and Hardware Eng.
• Provide leadership in hardware selection and qualification processes.
• Evangelize emerging technical concepts to senior leadership for strategy.
• Architect end-to-end server designs with vendors for CPU/GPU workloads.
• Architect end-to-end storage topologies for performance and arch.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in server/storage architecture or infra engineering.
• Deep expertise in server and storage hardware across CPU to rack-scale GPU.
• Experience driving AI/ML hardware roadmaps and translating trends into designs.
• Knowledge of CXL, DPUs/SmartNICs, disaggregated storage.
• Proven ability to lead PoC initiatives and scale pilots to global standards.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with tech and business teams and partners.
• Excellent communication and leadership, mentoring engineers and presenting externally.
