Principal Mechanical Engineer, Hardware

📋 Description

• Own hardware development from spec to design, prototype, test, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, perception, controls, and manufacturing engineers.
• Design flight hardware and test setups to validate designs.
• Establish top-level design architectures and methodologies; clearly communicate decisions.
• Perform and document design analysis and testing results; data-driven decisions.
• Work with Industrial Design to ensure the final product meets design intent and customer needs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the broader mechanical engineering team.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in mechanical engineering with precision mechanisms
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related
• Experience in fast-paced safety-critical environments
• DFM, DFA, DFT knowledge
• Statistical tolerance analysis and GD&T
• 3D CAD modeling tools
