Principal Product Designer, Design Systems

📋 Description

• Audit existing components and live experiences with AI tools to map gaps and unify the system.
• Own Kin's token architecture (color, typography, spacing, motion) as the single source of truth.
• Design token systems that scale across internal tools and customer-facing apps.
• Establish and maintain Figma-to-code parity with engineering on the token-to-component pipeline.
• Introduce new components and patterns as Kin expands into new domains.
• Define contribution model and governance with automation to guard against fragmentation.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of visual/product design experience with design-systems focus.
• Track record taking a design system from audit to adoption.
• Fluency in token architecture (primitive/semantic/component) and Figma for systems.
• Experience using AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate tasks.
• Ability to influence without authority across a federated org.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and 0-to-1 spaces.
