Principal Scientist — Marine Acoustics

📋 Description

• Lead underwater acoustics strategy and technical vision for the platform.
• Develop capabilities to detect, classify, localize, and track acoustic sources.
• Drive AI/ML model development for edge and cloud acoustic intelligence.
• Advance methods for mapping ocean soundscape and propagation conditions.
• Provide acoustics-centric sensing design including hydrophones and calibration.
• Collaborate with ocean scientists and engineers to translate acoustics into products.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise in underwater acoustics.
• Practical experience building acoustic sensing systems or algorithms for detection and localization.
• Strong understanding of marine acoustic propagation, ambient noise, and signal processing.
• Experience with real-world acoustic datasets and field deployments.
• PhD in acoustics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience applying ML or statistical signal processing to acoustic detection.
