📋 Description

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce an industry-leading vector database offering
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, building new search features and fixing bugs; invent new
• Work with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities of Elasticsearch.
• Be an expert on how Elasticsearch implements vector similarity to support search relevance.
• Collaborate with community members worldwide on issues and PRs, including triage and handoffs when
• Write idiomatic modern Java (Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java).

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases; familiarity with algorithms
• Strong core Java skills; comfortable with standard library data structures, concurrency, and
• Autonomous with the ability to lead projects end-to-end, including technical design and cross-team
• Experience collaborating asynchronously across the internet; strong written and verbal
• Experience with data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and debugging complex systems.
