Principal Software Developer - Vector Search - Elasticsearch

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives to enhance vector similarity search in Elasticsearch
• Design and implement new vector search features and fix complex bugs
• Work with a globally distributed team on vector search capabilities
• Contribute to Elasticsearch and Lucene vector search implementations
• Collaborate across communities, triage issues and pull requests
• Write idiomatic modern Java and work close to OS/hardware as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with vector similarity on large-scale search platforms
• Professional experience with vector similarity algorithms such as HNSW, IVF
• Strong core Java skills and knowledge of standard data structures and concurrency
• Autonomous, able to own projects end-to-end and collaborate asynchronously
• Excellent verbal and written communication for distributed collaboration
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra a plus
