Principal Software Engineer - AI Pod (Dublin, Ireland)

📋 Description

• Lead full-stack design and delivery of AI-native solutions across Toast.
• Drive technical architecture for pod initiatives, from backend to frontend APIs.
• Build and integrate LLM-powered agents, tools, and workflows into product contexts.
• Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, design, testing, and ops.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.
• Partner with stakeholders across Toast engineering to define scope and deliver outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years designing scalable software with full-stack backend and frontend.
• Experience leading technical architecture for a platform, product, or team.
• Experience building, deploying, or operating LLM-powered agents or AI infra.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and plugins.
• Experience with MCP or similar agentic integration frameworks.
• Strong prompt engineering and LLM context understanding.
