Principal Software Engineer (Backend), Communication Platform

📋 Description

• Define and drive the technical vision for Communications Platform; translate into roadmaps.
• Architect high-throughput, low-latency infrastructure powering tens of millions daily.
• Lead cross-team initiatives spanning multiple teams and long-term impact.
• Own the API and platform design philosophy with safety as a constraint.
• Identify systemic risks and platform debt; champion investments.
• Be a multiplier across engineering teams; establish best practices at scale.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in backend or full-stack engineering with ownership of large systems.
• Distributed systems thinker; design/operate services under real load.
• Proficient in at least one server-side language: C#, Java, Go, or C++.
• Clear communicator; write sharp technical specs; reason trade-offs.
• End-to-end owner; drive projects from requirements to production.
• Product-opinionated; proactively shape the roadmap and outcomes.
