Principal Software Engineer, Compute Fleet Management

📋 Description

• Lead three Fleet Management pods; set direction across provisioning, data and control planes.
• Architect declarative Kubernetes-style control planes for on-prem and cloud.
• Own internal contracts and APIs to govern automation across the fleet.
• Drive self-serve capacity strategy; build internal products and UIs to manage compute.
• Centralize security, maintenance, and uptime of Roblox Kubernetes clusters.
• Partner with stakeholders inside and outside infra to drive backend services, AI and edge compute.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure.
• Proven track record as technical anchor; provides leadership across teams.
• Strong Go proficiency; design/operate production services at fleet scale.
• Hands-on with declarative, Kubernetes-style control planes.
• Strong gRPC for service APIs and with SQL/Postgres.
• Experience operating compute across on-prem data centers and clouds.
