📋 Description

• Owning core performance initiatives from architecture to production
• Leading design, plan and execution for major optimizations
• Developing performance models for complex distributed systems
• Driving optimization to keep Elasticsearch performant, predictable and scalable
• Profiling and analyzing system behavior to identify bottlenecks
• Ensuring robust benchmarks and regression detection for stateful/stateless systems

🎯 Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Java internals, JVM memory management, and thread-safe code
• Proven profiling/optimizing distributed systems; benchmarking tools (flamegraphs, JMH, Rally)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture, partition tolerance, and scaling
• Experience using AI/advanced tooling to accelerate optimization and automate benchmarking
• Ability to collaborate across functions and transition between projects as priorities shift
• Autonomous, decisive, transparent communicator enabling distributed teamwork
