📋 Description

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to improve search speed and relevance.
• Build new search features and fix bugs; design algorithms as needed.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team via email, GitHub, Zoom, Slack.
• Drive improvements in search relevance and overall search experience.
• Own end-to-end project design and execution with engineers.
• Write idiomatic modern Java; Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with search and vector databases; used HNSW, IVF, or similar.
• Strong Java expertise; core Java, data structures, and concurrency.
• Autonomous; own projects from design to delivery; collaborate cross-functionally.
• Familiar with storage tech: Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Proven record of using AI to accelerate development and debugging.
• Open source collaboration experience and diverse VCS/CI workflows.
