Principal Software Engineer, Toast Partner Connect

📋 Description

• Own the Partner Connect tech strategy; make it readable to non-technical teams.
• Design partner data platform; architect storage and access for ToastIQ/AI.
• Build automated, self-serve onboarding with sandbox provisioning and prod path.
• Set events/API standards; create feedback loops to measure team success.
• Collaborate with EM/PM to turn vision into an executable roadmap.
• Raise the bar with architecture/design reviews; mentor and scale teams.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years designing and delivering complex, scalable backend systems with leadership.
• Influence beyond your own team; drove technical direction adopted elsewhere.
• Distributed, event-driven architectures and APIs in Java/Kotlin/Scala on a major cloud.
• Strong data architecture and schema design that survive evolving requirements.
• Experience owning a platform or shared service with real internal consumers.
• Comfort starting from ambiguity; write playbooks when none exist.
