📋 Description

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce a vector database offering with speed and
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, build new search features and fix bugs, and implement new
• Work with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities of Elasticsearch.
• Be an expert on vector similarity implementations to support search relevance and mentor others in
• Collaborate with community members worldwide on issues and pull requests, triage when needed.
• Write idiomatic modern Java and work with near-total Java codebase (Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java).

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with vector similarity on large-scale search platforms; contributions to vector search
• Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases; familiarity with HNSW, IVF, or
• Strong core Java skills and knowledge of concurrent data structures and libraries; comfortable with
