Principal Staff Engineer - Platforms

📋 Description

• Lead technical direction for a major platform area; align on target architecture, priorities.
• Unblock hard problems: deep dive on delivery, reliability and scaling; guide teams to solutions.
• Raise the bar on platform engineering with standards, guardrails and paved paths.
• Shape and steer the roadmap with engineering and product leadership; balance near-term and long-term health.
• Grow technical leadership: coach Staff/Senior Staff engineers across the Platforms space.
• Stay hands-on: lead design reviews, pair with teams on critical problems.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience designing, building and operating platforms or large-scale distributed systems end-to-end.
• Proven ability to shape and execute technical strategy and roadmaps across multiple teams.
• Demonstrated strength leading through influence: aligning stakeholders and driving decisions.
• Have led the technical direction for Engineering Platforms.
• Deep foundation in architecture, reliability, scalability, performance, observability and security.
• Experience improving developer experience via guardrails, self-service and paved paths.
