Product Counsel

📋 Description

• Provide practical legal advice and counseling on a full range of product-related issues domestically and internationally
• Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering and Strategy teams through the entire product lifecycle to identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and assist cross-functional efforts to achieve go-to-market goals
• Serve as a legal advisor on AI matters, including advising on AI policies, liability, licensing, responsible AI development, deployment, and risk assessments
• Develop and enhance processes designed to ensure ongoing product compliance with global laws and regulations, including global privacy laws, data security, export control and trade compliance
• Negotiate inbound and outbound license agreements
• Participate in the company’s open-source review process

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an accredited institution
• Active and in good standing in at least one state bar
• At least 5 years of relevant legal experience in software/SaaS/tech
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act)
• Working knowledge of global privacy laws affecting software
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
