Product Safety Engineer

📋 Description

• Manage autonomous vehicle product safety for safety excluding collision risk, including discovery
• Partner with domain experts from systems, hardware, software, and operations to build robust risk
• Review proposed mitigations, write requirements and test coverage, and identify KPIs for field
• Propose evaluation framework and acceptance criteria, drawing on industry practice and standards
• Translate complex probabilistic risk models and statistical analyses into clear, actionable safety
• Champion and promote a robust safety culture and continuous improvement of the Waymo safety program.

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or other relevant technical field OR 4
• Proven experience managing product risk for physical products or services using quantitative or
• Strong foundation in risk management, including end-to-end lifecycle: identification, assessment
• Solid understanding of safety critical system designs and systems engineering 'Verification and
