Pump Mechanic (Lark/ Mount Holly, NC)

📋 Description

• Overhaul safety-related pumps: RHR, CCW, Service Water, Charging, Condensate, Feedwater.
• Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild vertical and horizontal centrifugal pumps per OEM specs.
• Measure shafts, sleeves, wear rings, and bearing fits to verify tolerances.
• Install, set, and verify mechanical seals during pump rebuild activities.
• Troubleshoot seal failures and pump performance issues during maintenance.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and OEM manuals to guide repair and maintenance work.

🎯 Requirements

• Journeyman Millwright or Industrial Mechanic certification, or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
• Extensive experience maintaining, inspecting, and rebuilding rotating equipment and pumps.
• Demonstrated experience installing and setting mechanical seals during pump overhaul activities.
• Strong understanding of pump hydraulics, pump curves, and rotating equipment performance principles.
• Experience with disassembly/inspection/repair of rotating equipment incl. vertical, horizontal, multistage pumps.
• Power generation plant experience in rotating equipment maintenance.
• Nice-to-have: pump overhaul experience; rigging certification or heavy equipment lift experience.
