Quality Control Engineer, HD Mapping

📋 Description

• Review HD map geospatial datasets, including lane geometry, road boundaries, intersections
• Perform quality-control reviews of map features generated from LiDAR point clouds, aerial and
• Identify, document, and triage mapping defects, escalating safety-critical issues to the
• Define and continuously improve QC metrics, sampling strategies, audit workflows, and processes
• Partner with internal engineering teams and external mapping vendors to communicate quality
• Analyze recurring defect patterns and provide feedback to upstream map creation and annotation

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or
• 1–3 years of experience for QC Engineer I or 3–5 years for QC Engineer II in geospatial data
• Experience working with geospatial data formats such as Shapefiles, GeoJSON, and KML, as well as
• Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS and/or LiDAR and point-cloud visualization
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle spatial, geometric, and data-quality
• Ability to work with large datasets and develop repeatable, data-driven quality-control processes.
