R&D Materials Engineer Intern

📋 Description

• Develop next-gen microelectrode materials with the microfabrication team
• Create solutions for electrode-tissue interfaces to improve sensitivity
• Perform materials characterization and surface chemistry on implants
• Design and fabricate custom test fixtures for new experiments
• Execute established protocols and independently design new experiments
• Troubleshoot, iterate, and communicate findings clearly

🎯 Requirements

• Evidence of exceptional ability in Materials Eng, Chemical Eng, Biomed Eng, or Chemistry
• 2+ years of academic or industry experience
• Strong understanding of the scientific method and engineering first principles
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with chemical handling and safe lab practices
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software
