Regional Head of U.S. State and Local Policy, WEST

📋 Description

• Lead regional public policy team across Western states; manage goals and budgets.
• Translate regional intelligence into strategic insights for leaders.
• Collaborate with Legal, Communications, Product, Safety to align policy with business goals.
• Develop and execute policy roadmap and allocate resources in the West.
• Oversee state consultants and represent Waymo in trade associations and coalitions.
• Role reports to Director of U.S. State and Local Policy and Public Policy Campaigns.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Communications, or related field.
• 10+ years in government affairs or public policy with tech/regulated sectors.
• Deep knowledge of Western state/local processes and strong stakeholder network.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into persuasive advocacy.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder mgmt skills.
• Experience managing policy budgets and resources efficiently.

🎁 Benefits

• Base salary $210,000 — $259,000 USD; bonus and equity programs.
