Safety Policy Lead, Youth Safety

📋 Description

• Research and develop youth-safety policies on CSAM, grooming, age assurance.
• Own the policy lifecycle: scoping, data justification, testing, feedback loops.
• Partner with Legal to embed KOSA, COPPA, DSA, and Online Safety Act into policy design.
• Co-develop enforcement infra with Trust & Safety, Eng, ML teams (datasets, hierarchies, signals).
• Maintain the feedback loop from implementation and QA; drive policy revisions.
• Collaborate with civil society, NCMEC, ICAC, and external safety organizations; represent Discord externally.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in trust and safety, policy development, or child safety roles at a tech platform or civil society org.
• Deep expertise in CSAM, grooming, age assurance, and related regulatory landscape.
• Direct experience with KOSA, COPPA, DSA and Online Safety Act; regulatory literacy.
• Proven ability to write policy that survives implementation with clear criteria and edge-case guidance.
• Experience working with ML and automation teams to translate policy into detection signals.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
