Senior Accountant - IDOT Bureau of Maintenance Support

📋 Description

• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements utilizing Excel spreadsheets to monitor spending on
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account (1200, 1300, 1500, and 1800 funding) reconciliations to
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to Support’s
• Review all Maintenance transactions and invoices as necessary
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for obligation purposes – estimated spends vs actual spends
• Coordinate semi-annual commodity audits as an internal check with Financial Services

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting
• Experience with computerized ledger systems
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
