Senior Analytics Engineer (Finance)

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain the dbt layer for financial actuals in Snowflake.
• Develop Snowflake-native functions, procedures, and frameworks for the model.
• Partner with FP&A to translate budgets, forecasts, and P&L into SQL/dbt models.
• Build and maintain data integrations from NetSuite, Stripe, payroll, and billing to Snowflake.
• Implement data quality testing; ensure actuals align with sources; enable Sigma handoffs.
• Design and document model architecture and data lineage; apply code practices.

🎯 Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or technical finance/BI with ownership of production dbt projects.
• Expert-level SQL with Snowflake: window functions, recursive CTEs, UDFs, and stored procedures.
• Deep dbt experience with macros, testing, incremental models, and docs-as-code.
• Strong understanding of financial data concepts: COA, revenue recognition, cost allocation, budget vs actual reconciliation, and driver-based modeling.
• Experience designing data models for parameterized analysis (scenarios, what-if).
• Familiarity with ERP/financial systems (NetSuite, Stripe, etc) and data integration challenges.
• Ability to work autonomously with FP&A stakeholders; translate requirements into technical specs.
• Strong opinions on data modeling best practices; adaptable to constraints.
