📋 Description

• Own Compass’s agentic product science and north star direction.
• Ship retailer-assistant features end-to-end across Python app, data plumbing, wrappers, and frontend.
• Translate ambiguous product bets into sequenced, de-risked tactical plans.
• Set and raise the bar for eval- and experiment-driven development.
• Make pragmatic engineering choices that are simple to ship now and evolve.
• Partner with engineers as the science/tech interface to adjacent teams (Search, Personalization, Platform/FLARE).
• Raise the team’s judgment through prototypes, analyses, design reviews, and pairing.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years shipping production ML/AI systems with hands-on ownership of data, eval, modeling, and quality.
• Shipped agentic/LLM-powered features in production with eval strategy and latency/cost/quality tradeoffs.
• Strong applied ML/data science foundation; turned data into product.
• Track record shipping fast across backend, data, and frontend with quality.
• AI-native: uses AI coding tools and agent workflows as a multiplier.
• Architectural maturity: explain simple, scalable design choices that scale with requirements.
