Senior Automation and Controls Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Design control system schematics, panel layouts, and wiring for UL891/UL508A.
• Configure/program PLCs, relays, and automation devices for power control and sequencing.
• Integrate and troubleshoot Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, and Ethernet/IP for high reliability.
• Develop interlock logic, sequencing, and fail-safe systems for complex power automation.
• Support on-site commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Design and validate UL508A/UL891 systems per NEC Article 409; produce docs.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in automation, controls design, or electrical systems integration in industrial/manufacturing/power environments.
• Technical degree in automation, electrical engineering, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong knowledge of UL508A, UL891, NEC Article 409, and industrial control panel standards.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical for schematic design, panel layout, and documentation (AutoCAD Electrical a plus).
• Experience with PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet/IP).
• Hands-on system testing, commissioning, field integration; strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration.
