Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

📋 Description

• Lead major projects for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
• Build tools, APIs and integrations for the platform.
• Backend in Elixir and Phoenix; Postgres; AWS hosting.
• Collaborate with frontend, SRE, and QA in cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers; contribute to shared codebase and observability.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals; ship secure, reliable, scalable systems.
• Experience designing/adopting agentic/automation workflows.
• Systems thinking: define specs, decompose plans, verify quality.
• PostgreSQL (or similar) database expertise.
• CI/CD experience (GitLab, Github, Jenkins or similar).
• Demonstrates automation and AI fluency.
